Hello, i'm someone who studies here and just like to write my thoughts.

The teachers here are really nice, but honestly disappointed because of how often teachers change around here, teachers would even complain about how overworked they are, mainly from what the principle or school managements wants them to do.

Would say I dislike the principle here, the previous principles were really kind and helpful, but the principle now have some sort of anger issues, would never really approve on any activities students wanted even after teachers giving detailed plannings of it.

There has been many improvements for school facilities recently, but canteen food has been really expensive for students, hope they'll change that.

My school life isn't that great here and overall not that happy. Would say there are cases of bullying that teachers aren't aware of. Writing it here in hopes for stricter changes from teachers. A lot of the times, teachers know what goes around, but they always like to think it as if "friends playing around" and there's never stricter actions taken beside a small warning. The students don't change, that for sure. Reasons why it is hard to speak it out to teachers, students would continue doing that and even make it worse if they know you reported them. There's a lot I would complain and speak up of here, but I'll shut my mouth.

I like this school, but it's not worth the price. The tuition is insane, especially when you consider the problems that need to be addressed.

1. The Pick-Up Point
its absolutely disgusting with garbage all over the floors. I understand that these are all probably caused by children that know nothing but could we at least teach them to throw away their trash? i feel like these are basic things children should have learned by now

2. The rules
i completely understand that "they have a reason to be implemented" but i feel like some of these rules are straight up unnecessary especially since they have NOTHING to do with the studies i mean its not like any of the teachers care anyways i don't even think they notice if any rules have been broken which should be slightly concerning

I've said my piece, and I really hope that some changes can be made. Other than that, this school is fine. However, if you're planning to send your child to this school, there are other schools that are way better and a better value for your money.

start at 8:10 am in the morning, ends at 4pm, long jam leads to lots of late students, need to leave house earlier. Parents also have to wait in jam to pick up their kids. Then there's only 30 minutes for break and lunch. 5 mins spent walking, around another 5 mins queuing up for food, only 20 mins for break and lunch. Lots of the tables at the canteen have dirt and rubbish which the janitors never cleans up, sometimes the soap dispensers have no soap or are just broken. Many good teachers are leaving. Short time for CCA(only 50 minutes). Lots of time wasted in CCA just taking attendance. Principal has ruined the school ever since she joined. I don't buy school food but from my friend's comments, the food is expensive and has not much taste at all. Disciplinary system not taken too seriously as secret bullying may happen. A petition was made with ~100 or so signatures to remove the current principle, but that didn't do anything. The disciplinary teachers shout at students for not singing school song at 8 in the morning. Many students take van to school and have to wake up as early as 6am. I am in year 11 and writing this on 10/10/2024. To the principle and staff members, please fix the problems listed above. I know that there is a new building and road expansion coming next year, but I have no idea if they will fix it or not.

Been a student for nearly a decade here, and so far the changes that have been made to this school on the international side have barely to no improvements. Yet it is instead worse. Canteen food prices have been raised to absurd prices and are barely palatable with many complains from students but to no effect. New rules implemented by the new principal are just honestly dumb. It has been caught that she uses AI to create the rules and as well as being extremely rude and disrespectful to students. She too forces students to greet her and expresses aggressiveness if not greeted. Normally students would greet teachers by default without even being asked to at all, as it is basic discipline yet she coerces students to do so. Lastly, there is to be a parent discussion with her soon which is on Friday during lunch hours and a working day. This doesn't make sense at all as parents have jobs to do as well as having lunch during that time. Honestly I am just disappointed by the new appointment of the principal being Dr Chandra, as she has not made any improvements to the school at all so far ever since she was appointed as the principal

Please take note of the following points:

-The school has a combined Malay class: Meaning whether you completely cannot understand malay (foreigners) or you are a Malaysian, you will both take part in the same lesson. Thus, this makes the malay lesson standard very low.

-Canteen food: It's healthy, but it's pricey. Most meals are in a price range of RM8.00-RM10.00. For some simple snacks may also cost you around RM3.00-RM5.00

This come from a student who has been here for 3 years, the principal has changed many times, hopefully this one can shed a light to our previous issues and not causing any new ones.

I would like to feedback one new principal who just appointed months ago.

I am the parent and my child is the existing student.

To be honest, I don't have a good feeling about the new principal. My child has been voicing unhappiness since the day the new principal took over. I have known a few good teachers who have left the school because of her as well, and she has only been with the school for barely a month. This is not a very good sign for the school's future.

The most recent act from the principal is stopping all sports subsidies for students who represent the school in competitions. These students bring honor to the school regardless of the results. However, the new principal doesn't seem supportive of students participating in sports and prefers them to solely concentrate on academics. I am not saying academics are not important, but there has to be a balance. Students must maintain a healthy body to excel in their schoolwork.

I have already started thinking of changing schools.I am just sad to see this situation happening to the school, as my child has been with the school for 10 years.

Before the arrival of the current principal, the school was doing just fine—not fantastic, but acceptable. Importantly, my child was happy with the school, but not anymore.

However, my child is reluctant to change to a new school even though I suggested.

But something needs to be done if the school continues to decline due to bad leadership.

Throughout my professional experiences I've had to encounter change time and time again. Each time it happens, people rebel and only a handful embrace it. Embracing change does not equate blind acceptance but working together with parties involved in making said changes happen, of course, with little adjustments here and there to suit all sides as said changes go along.

I come from an all-girls' mission school in KL. In form 3, we welcomed our new principal. The girls disliked her thoroughly. She walked around school with her clipped board and pen, stopped us along corridors demanding we walk straight, greet our teachers, 'behave' like young women, to not talk a certain way. She would never smile. She would call students to her office, 'nag' at them, keep them after school hours to write essays on their wrong doings leading to students missing the school bus and having to walk home.

My classmates who encountered the principal's 'wrath' hated this woman so much at that point in time and would sit around in groups verbally trashing her whenever they came together.

But guess what? It's been 20 years since and every single one of the girls I keep in touch with from that school, especially those with daughters, say they are grateful to our principal and wish for their daughters to have such an educator in their life.

Coming from a family of educators, I understand the vision and challenges teachers face especially in these times.

What I'm trying to say is, (aside from the changes to the canteen vendor and pricing which I still very much disagree with), I'm embracing the changes that is to come as outlined in the parents' meet yesterday by Dr Chandra and excitedly looking forward to an increased level of structure and discipline in the school. Again, not blind embrace and acceptance,..as along with many other parents, we will surely be watching, and providing our remarks and feedback where we see fit.

5 stars to motivate the new team at REAL JB as they steer the school in a new direction.
