A gentle reminder, especially for some officers under Yayasan Pahang:

This isn’t to generalize all the hardworking individuals there. I believe many do serve with sincerity. But a few really need to return to the basics: common courtesy, professionalism, and emotional intelligence.

Regardless of your age or seniority, if you’re working under Yayasan, a body created to serve the people of Pahang, your attitude, communication, and conduct should reflect that mission. From how you reply to emails, to how you speak in person, rudeness, dismissiveness, and condescension are not signs of authority. They’re signs of poor training and misplaced ego.

Maybe it’s time for Yayasan to consider a short course in customer service, workplace etiquette, and English for professional communication. Not everyone you speak to was born and raised in Pahang, and certainly not everyone understands the slang or tone you use casually.

Professionalism is not about hierarchy but it’s about humility, respect, and communication. If you’re having a bad day, that’s human. But dragging that negativity into your workplace, especially one built to serve the public, is unfair to those who come to you seeking help.

Emails sent half-heartedly, tones laced with arrogance, and service that feels like a favour rather than a duty, this shouldn’t be the standard.

You don’t earn respect just by holding a title or clocking in years. You earn it by how you treat people consistently and respectfully.

Yayasan Pahang, please take note. Some internal reflection and training wouldn’t hurt.
