This place is built in a scenic location, away from city center (I.e., hard to get to). It would have been a decent place for relaxation if the facility is not built to mislead the guests! Its over all layout gives the perception of an old European chateau (I.e., maybe more than 100 years old). However, it was built from scratch in 2000. Therefore, it was only 25 years old when this review was written. For a hotel of 25 years old, it is considered old and it should have been property upgraded; but it was not. The locks on all doors and windows do not work, not because they are old; but they were fake. They have no latch, not properly built for the locks to be properly serve the purpose. All knobs for the bathtub were falling off as I touched them to turn on the water. The titles in the bathroom are old and dirty. If one doesn’t know the real age of the facility, one would not expect much since it is a facility that is more than 100 years old. Strategically, building a facility with shoddy materials and workmanship with the combination of not maintaining it properly can be logically explained due to the age of the building. Realistically, it is not that old and it should have been properly upgraded. I would not recommend anyone to this facility. The room is so bad to the point that I cannot even give it one star

Pengalaman menginap di Colmar Tropicale (Okt 2025, 2H1M)

Saya buat tempahan bilik terus melalui website rasmi Colmar Tropicale — pakej dah termasuk tiket masuk ke Colmar, taman arnab, taman Jepun dan juga sarapan untuk 2 orang (kalau walk-in, harga breakfast RM58/dewasa & RM29/kanak-kanak).

Bilik diberikan secara rawak dan saya dapat di blok Fushia (One Bedroom King Suite).
Hari Jumaat memang tak ramai orang, jadi suasana sangat tenang dan damai. Malam tu sempat tengok fire show di kawasan kolam renang (lebih kurang jam 9-10 malam).

Cuma harga makanan agak mahal — contohnya chicken chop RM35 dan lemon tea ais RM15 🥲. Tapi jangan risau, ada 7E berdekatan kalau nak beli makanan ringan atau fast food.

Keesokan pagi (Sabtu), saya cadangkan bangun awal untuk ambil gambar sebab lepas pukul 9 pagi memang ramai pengunjung. Lepas sesi bergambar, boleh terus ke buffet breakfast.
Dalam pukul 10 lebih, ada juga aktiviti bergambar dengan burung (2R RM20, A4 RM50) — menarik juga untuk kenangan!

Secara keseluruhan, bilik bersih, makanan ok, suasana pun cantik. Cuaca di sana tak sesejuk Cameron Highland, tapi tetap nyaman — tak panas macam di bandar 😆

Baru-baru ni saya sempat lepak satu malam kat Colmar Tropicale Bukit Tinggi. Tempat dia memang lawa ala ala kampung Perancis sesuai sangat kalau nak lari kejap dari hiruk pikuk KL. Suasana tenang bangunan pun cantik kalau nak ambil gambar Instagram especially waktu malam bila lampu semua dah buka. Bilik agak selesa tapi boleh nampak dah lama sikit kemudahan basic je jangan expect macam hotel lima bintang. Makanan kat situ tak banyak pilihan sangat jadi better standby kudap kudap sendiri atau makan luar dulu. Tak pun pergi je 7e situ, Setel. Banyak makanan. Staff okay ramah dan tolong je kalau kita tanya. Cuma jalan nak naik tu agak gelap waktu malam dan ada juga monyet datang kacau kalau tak tutup tingkap. Tapi untuk satu malam lepak ambil angin sejuk bukit memang berbaloi cukup nak recharge kepala sebelum sambung kerja minggu depan.

Hi, not gonna lie Colmar was beautiful. I love the concept, the scenery and the people there. My husband and I came by motorcycle. Since it was our first time visiting, we had trouble finding a motorcycle parking spot until we finally found one at the very top level, possibly the rooftop of the building. When we entered the main area, everything seemed fine at first, but the building and floor were quite dirty, covered in bird droppings everywhere. Because of that, we decided not to eat and just walked around instead.

When we were about to return to the parking area, we took the lift in the adjacent building and to our shock, there were many wild monkeys around. As soon as they saw us, they started chasing us. I fell and got injured while trying to escape. We had to get out of the lift and walk all the way around from the front entrance instead. It was exhausting and honestly terrifying.

How could the security be so careless, and how is the management not aware that there are so many wild animals in the area? We were lucky to have escaped those animals could have seriously harmed us. And yes, I did get hurt. This is our first and definitely our last visit to Colmar. Sorry.

I came here for work, and honestly, this place is better for a short visit or photo session rather than staying overnight. The surroundings are beautiful, but there’s not much to do except take pictures — luckily there were some parrots around to make it a bit more fun.

The room was okay and comfortable, but the housekeeping service was disappointing — just done for the sake of it. Quite frustrating considering the room rate is not cheap.

Some suggestions for improvement:
• Please repaint the buildings — they’d look much fresher and more inviting.
• Do some maintenance, especially on the parts that look worn out or unsafe.
• Add more shops or cafes that open till late, since there’s nowhere nearby to hang out at night.
• A live band or some night entertainment would really make the place more enjoyable.
• Even on weekdays, it’d be nice to have night activities — that way, guests will remember The Colmar as a fun and lively place.

😏parking very dim. The pic looks bright it’s not in reality. Floor and surrounding dirty
😏lifts very old, making squeaky sound unsure if it’ll stop midway
😏surrounding a bit dirty spoilt the view
😏many stalls non operating
😏others operating are very dull n suitable for kids only
😏am reluctant to stay more than 2hrs. Whatmore overnight coz there’s zero excitement

Suggestions:
💜upgrade all that’s about to breakdown
💜introduce new and safe activities/games
💜cleanup and maintain cleanliness at all times including washrooms
💜new coats of paint
💜upgrade lightings
In touristy sites like Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, Hongkong etc everything is pretty from the head till the tail so positive memories are encapsulated. We must emulate them.

Ideas/introduce:
✅guided photography strolls
✅guided painting sessions with portable easels
✅outdoor exercise class eg yoga, silat, tai chi
✅picnic spots. You sell packages like pkg A vegetarian food, pkg B western, pkg C american
✅ spa treatment overlooking ….view (make sure view is attractive n clean)
✅open-air tea and coffee tasting
✅stargazing nights with telescopes
✅cooking class using local herbs/produce
✅offer hostel stay for staff at ticket booth. I met a lady staff who shared when she’s on morning shift she had to ride her bike between 6-7am and it’s dark, quiet and insufficient road lights so she’s always afraid. A nearby police station looks like a haunted empty hut.
Imagine the risks they’ve to take just to earn a living.

Sorry to say, Colmar Tropicale really needs a lot of improvements.

Bathroom/Shower area: Extremely disappointing. The toilet area was dirty, with visible mold (see photos). It looked like it hadn’t been scrubbed for a long time urghh where is the housekeeping supervisor? Didn’t anyone check their staff’s work The toilet flush was broken and part of the ceiling was open, which was quite scary with noises coming from above. For a 4-star hotel, this is totally unacceptable

Breakfast: The food needs serious improvement. Sambal was too spicy, nasi lemak tasted plain without the coconut flavor and rendang was bland. The juice area was also unhygienic with ants around the cups. Definitely not up to 4-star standard.

Staff attitude in breakfast area . Some staff were talking and joking loudly, slamming doors huh very unprofessional behavior.

Overall, the place itself is beautiful and has potential but the management really needs to take action. It’s embarrassing for such a popular tourist spot to be maintained this poorly. Honestly, even budget hotels I’ve stayed at were better managed.

I honestly wouldn’t come again unless the management takes serious action because from reading other reviews, I’m clearly not the only one who experienced these issues. Such a waste for a place that could be amazing if properly maintained.

Looks can be deceiving. The hotel needs big upgrade in terms of facilities. The room they show on their website vs the actual condition is starkly different.

The washrooms are not clean -partly because of mold and years of wear and tear. I have a feeling they only upkeep the higher priced rooms and dont care about deluxe ones.

We were given the worst possible room that we could book. Everything is dated. Because of the mold and unclear surface, we decided not to shower at the bathtub.

Fridge didn’t work as first until they had to send someone to check. For the first time, I saw fridge switch being turned off at the back. It was smelly.

The room was literally upstairs of reception, next to the entrance, so you can't really open the window or curtain because there is people everywhere.

Blankets are torn in some places. Towels literally gave in as I tried to clean my face I had lint all over my face. Maybe its been washed so many times or very low quality.

The face save is staff are nice. But if you want to stay in Bukit Tinggi, just book a better hotel.

I think they acknowledge the reviews and say we will improve but that's just bs, I didnt see any improvement. What a let down!
