I attended a short course on Industry 4.0 transformation at MIT Academy, and it was an excellent experience. The program was well-structured, practical, and provided clear insights into the latest technologies and strategies shaping Industry 4.0. The trainers were knowledgeable and engaging, making complex concepts easy to understand. I especially appreciated the balance between theory and hands-on learning, which made the course very relevant to real-world applications. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to upskill and understand the future of digital transformation.

My personal experiences working here as intern are horrible to put it nicely. There are lots of reason on why I despised this company. First, the management around here is just plain awful. A lot of miscommunication, no respects for the workers and their time, and poor man-management too. Not enough workers for the amount of work that needed to be done. Had to work OT without the pay. Tasks doesn't meet any of the job scope. I had quiet an expectation on the company before I started my internship here, but unfortunately it never achieved that in the first place. A company with a huge potential suffered from greed and overambition. Until this company takes the negative reviews seriously, this company will never grow.

Over-reliance on AI over human expertise – Critical decisions and processes are delegated to AI systems instead of leveraging the technical knowledge of employees, which undermines employee contributions.

Excessive working hours with inadequate compensation – Employees are expected to work beyond reasonable limits, sometimes with food offered in place of proper pay.

Toxic work environment – The culture is built on pressure, lack of respect, and poor communication, creating unnecessary stress and inefficiency.

Micromanagement and surveillance – Extreme oversight, including unnecessary monitoring policies and location tracking, erodes trust and raises privacy concerns.

Poor work-life balance – Employees are expected to be available even during off-hours or while on medical leave, leading to burnout.

Work unrelated to job description – Most of the assignments given are not aligned with the original role or technical specialization, causing frustration and limiting professional growth.

No career development – Promised technical training, certifications, and growth opportunities are never fulfilled.

Outdated or malfunctioning equipment – Employees are forced to work with inadequate tools, or even required to use their own personal laptops.

Advice to Management
Develop a culture that values and respects employees’ expertise rather than replacing it with unchecked AI dependence. Implement fair workload expectations and proper compensation. Assign work that aligns with employees’ job descriptions and skill sets. Reduce unnecessary micromanagement and invest in modern, reliable equipment rather than relying on employees’ personal devices. Provide real opportunities for career advancement and ensure HR actively supports employees’ concerns. Respect for work-life balance and religious practices is essential to improving retention, morale, and overall organizational performance.

My internship experience here was extremely disappointing and honestly exhausting. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who values their time, sanity, or career.

The workplace was toxic. We were constantly micromanaged, given excessive workloads, and expected to work long hours without fair compensation. Many of the tasks had nothing to do with our actual field of study. Instead, we were treated like full-time staff, brought in just to fill in gaps. It was clear we were brought in as nothing more than cheap labor.

What made it worse is that they keep hiring interns over and over again just to cut costs, not to support or guide us.

There was no consideration for our well-being, no proper structure for learning, and definitely no respect for the fact that we’re still students.

This wasn’t an internship. It was exploitation. Please avoid it.

I completed my internship at this company. While the Google reviews seemed encouraging at first, my actual experience was quite different. I would not recommend this internship to those looking for meaningful learning or development opportunities. This review is based solely on my personal experience during my internship and may not reflect the experiences of others.

PROS:
I was given the opportunity to attend various exhibitions and represent the company. This gave me valuable exposure to current tech trends in Malaysia and allowed me to grow my professional network. These chances came mostly because I had prior experience with VR development and Oculus systems, which I handled very well during my time there.

CONS:
The hardware provided was outdated, and if I didn’t use my own laptop, the company would supply a basic Chromebook which was inadequate for any technical tasks.
Poor Management & Unrealistic Expectations: Interns are treated more like cheap labour than learners. I was tasked with developing a complete AI, AR, and VR system alone, while also doing unrelated research to the developments, all without proper hardware or technical guidance.
Ignored Recommendations: Multiple reports and presentations were submitted early on, outlining suitable hardware options within budget, but no action was taken throughout the internship. Despite clearly stating that the personal laptop used was not compatible for development, expectations to complete all tasks with it remained unchanged.
Staff Shortages Covered by Interns: Interns were frequently redirected from their own projects to help full-time staff, causing major delays. There was also a clear shortage of technically skilled personnel in the department.
Subpar Working Conditions: The office environment was poorly maintained. The air-conditioning was not properly serviced, the carpet was old and dusty, and the toilets were smelly. I often fell sick because of this.
Unpaid Overtime: Overtime work was a regular expectation, with no compensation. This only changed after my faculty issued a formal letter of concern.
Unethical HR Practices: The HR department changed my declared internship role and assigned me unrelated tasks at a government office. Toward the end of my internship, they even planned to terminate me without informing me or my supervisor directly. I only found out through my faculty. No warning letter was issued, but I was still asked to write an apology letter.
Misleading Use of AI: The company promotes its content as AI-generated, but in reality, they rely on low-cost AI subscriptions. As of my last day, they had not developed their own AI system.

Interning at MIT Academy was disappointing. The management was unorganized and treated interns like full-time employees without fair pay. The workload was excessive, with little guidance or support. They had no respect for our time, always expecting us to do last-minute tasks and even work outside office hours. Interns were constantly overworked just because we were seen as “cheap labor.” I wouldn’t recommend this place for anyone looking for a proper internship experience.
