My 15yo enjoyed the customized 2-week summer program that The Language Tree had crafted for her. The founder, Luisa Lim, and teachers, took the time to listen to her needs and objectives and designed a course that was both engaging and educational. For example, the program included a field trip to a nearby night market for real-life practice in conversing with Mandarin-speaking vendors, and an onde-onde (Malaysian dessert) -making session conducted solely in Chinese. Materials were well thought out and conveniently provided. The teachers- RZ and Vivian- were also very gentle, patient and helpful. Would recommend to anyone looking to bolster their language skills.

Completed my Beginner 1 part, Part 2, Part 3 and now embarking on Part 4 (Intermediate) with Teacher Ha Ming Hui. She is very patient and constantly engage us with non syllabus conversation so that we can still converse in Mandarin on topics of our interest. Language Tree management on the other hand is very rigid/inflexible with policies although we planned to enrol into Part 3 of Mandarin Conversation class previously. Having said so, I still enjoy the online virtual classes that saves us travelling, parking, dressing up time. Additional the chemistry amongst the classmates is fantastic. very important to ensure the class is enjoyable.

I have been attending the online classes for Chinese business with teacher Candy since June 2022. I think Ms Candy is an excellent teacher and I enjoy her classes and ways of teaching. I think she is attentive to her students and I appreciate the small number of people that are assigned per class. As for the syllabus, I like that we learn about case studies of businesses from China that have been successful overseas and from other countries entering the Chinese market. I am rating 4 stars as I personally would find it more engaging to have language classes in person, maybe it is something The Language Tree could explore.

"Life long learning" is a concept that I subscribed to. Upon my retirement last year, I felt it was time to embark on learning Mandarin, something that I always wanted but never got round to do. I browsed the internet and chanced upon The Language Tree. The
curriculum suited me and I signed up.
Teacher Yolanda Chen is very skilful and patient. My course mates are supportive and provided an ideal learning environment.

I am now doing Part 2 of the Beginners Series. I fully recommend this course if you are looking to learn Mandarin.

I completed Beginner Core Mandarin with Tang Qian, and she's one of the best teachers I've had. Learning with her was fun, and I went from being unable to speak, read and write Mandarin to being able to do it (at a basic level). I would recommend her lessons to any Mandarin newbie for sure!

Two-week Chinese immersion program for my kids that was hands on and custom tailored to appeal to 13 year olds— they did classroom, expeditions, visits to markets and cultural sites and vlogged. Highly recommended

I have started with very basic Mandarin ability then and am very glad to have joined this program as it has helped me to be able to read and write in Mandarin through WeChat and what’s app to my overseas China suppliers and customers.

Rapid Literacy class is the way to go for me, definitely helped me a lot in recognising the Chinese characters. Jing Long 老师 has been very engaging as well. Thank you 🙂
